Chernobyl - 20 Years After |

Bartolomeyka
A look into home of Elena Nikitevna reminds one of the 19. century.A couple
of old people still survive in this highly contaminated village Bertolomeyka
(Gomel region, Belarus). Contamination by Cesium 137 is higher than 70 Curie
per square kilometer here. Village had to be evacuated and most of the houses
were buried in the ground. Despite the danger,a couple of old people came
back to spend the rest of their life there. They have no electricity there
but it is not an obstacle for them to feel happy. Photo
